How do I know if my court recognizes internet traffic school?

One of the first things the course will tell you when you begin to register is whether we are approved or not by your court. If we are listed on the paperwork you received from your court, we are definitely approved by your court.

Because internet traffic school is such a new experience, some traffic courts have not yet authorized the online equivalent to the standard classroom course. However, many have, so the chances that your Court will accept internet based courses is very good. If your traffic court currently authorizes home study-Internet courses for traffic school attendance, there is a good chance they will authorize online attendance. If you would like help with getting your court's contact information, please use our Email Form.

What if my Court is not listed?

If your court is not on the list, please make sure that you are looking at the right court name and its corresponding address. Many courts will go by the name of the street they are located on and/or the city they are located in.  If you need assistance, call our customer support staff

What is a Case or Docket number?

The Case or Docket number is a unique number assigned by the Court for the purposes of tracking your citation.  Typically, you will receive a courtesy notice via mail from the Court shortly after receiving your traffic citation.  Among other things, the courtesy notice will indicate the bail amount as well as your options regarding traffic school.  You should be able to locate your Case or Docket number on the courtesy notice.  Most Courts call it a docket number but some Courts may refer to it as a case number or even a citation number. In the rare case that your Case/Docket number is too long to fit in the appropriate registration box, you can eliminate the dashes and spaces.  If you do this, just remember to eliminate the dashes and spaces when you reenter the course. NOTE: San Francisco Court uses a Citation number so enter that number.

I do not have my court docket or case number. Will I be able to start the course now without this information?

The short answer is yes but we don't recommend it.  If you cannot seem to locate your court case/docket number, then simply enter your zip code in the space provided on the registration form for the case/docket number as a temporary replacement. Be sure you enter your correct drivers license number too.  This will allow you to immediately begin the course. However, BEFORE you finish the course, you will need the correct case number.  If you still can't locate it, you will need to immediately contact your Court and have them give you this information. Once you obtain your correct case number, you can update it anytime you are logged on by clicking on the Modify Registration Information from the Table of Contents/Status page.

Remember, if you indeed use your zip code as a temporary replacement for your case/docket number, you must use it whenever you continue the course.

If you have already completed the course and/or you need assistance with this matter, please contact our customer support staff.  Please note that updating your file with all of your court information before you take the final exam, ensures that your completion certificate will include all the correct information the court needs to process your completion successfully without delay.

I didn't register for traffic school within 5 business days. Is it too late?

You may see the following statement on your court papers: "If you do not register within 5 business days, you may not be able to complete your traffic school obligation before your required due date". The court is only urging you to register as soon as possible so that you do not wait until the last minute. We don't notify any courts when a person has registered for our course. The most important date for you to pay attention to is the due date by which your certificate of completion needs to be turned in to your court.

I received a ticket a month ago and still haven't received a notice from the court. What should I do?

If you don't know if the Court will allow you to take traffic school, please contact your Court. They can tell you if and by when you can take traffic school. You are welcome to contact us if you need help finding the Court's phone number.

My due date for completing traffic school has passed. Can I get an extension?

The answer depends on your Court. Each traffic court has it's own policy for granting extensions. Contact the traffic clerk of your Court to inquire about their policies regarding due dates. Some Courts will grant you an extension over the phone, some require you to write a letter requesting an extension, some require you to appear in court to ask the judge, and some simply refuse altogether. That's why it's best to try to complete traffic school by allowing for enough time to turn in your certificate of completion on or before your due date.

What if I need more time to complete my traffic school requirement?

If you need extra time to complete traffic school beyond the time given to you by the court, contact your Court to inquire about an extension. Not all courts will grant extensions but most will. Please note that we offer expedited processing options (where allowed) as an extra service to help you get your certificate turned in on time.

If you are granted an extension, please update this information by clicking on "Modify Registration Information" from the Table of Contents page when you are logged into the course. For assistance contact our customer support staff.

Is your site secure?

Yes. We have secure encrypted links between your browser and our servers for credit card transactions and all other personal information.

What is your mailing address?

Please send all payments and correspondence to our Main Office at:

Fun Time Traffic School
PO Box 3397
Tustin, CA 92781-3397

Be sure to include your Case Number and Drivers License Number so that we can assist you more efficiently.

How do I contact you by phone?

We are happy to assist you by telephone during our customer service hours. The latest information can be found on the Contact link either from the home page or the Table of Contents page.  Please note that email is by far the most efficient way to contact us.  We typically can get back to you well within an hour and you have the advantage of contacting us during extended hours.  Please use our easy email form to send us an email message.  If you would like us to call you back, just include a phone number in your message.

Do I have to pay online to get started?

You do not have to pay online and you do not have to pay upfront when you register. Our try before you buy guarantee allows you to complete the course material at your own pace. You will be asked to pay prior to taking the final exam.  The payment options available are as follows:

  • credit card online

  • credit card by phone

  • cashier's check, personal check or money order by mail

You may choose one of these options at the time that you log on or by clicking on the Payment link anytime from the Table of Contents page.

I paid for traffic school at the Court, why do I have to pay again?

Actually you didn't.  The Court requires you pay the full bail amount (the fine) and optionally a court administrative fee if you choose to attend traffic school.  The Court should have informed you that Traffic Schools are private businesses and will charge a fee for the actual course.  None of the administrative fee that you paid the Court goes to the schools. This is retained in full by the Court (isn't that nice of them?).  So before you get mad at us, think about it this way.  With all the fees you paid regarding this traffic ticket, we are by far the smallest portion and the most important, because we can get that point off your record and keep your insurance rates lower.  Now that is value!

How much does the course cost?

The price of the course varies depending on the requirements of the Court. To find out the cost for taking the course for your particular Court, please go to our home page and click on Start Course. We have a low price guarantee among the online courses approved in your area. If you need more information, contact our customer support staff.

Will I have to pay again if I don't pass the final exam?

Never.  At Fun Time Traffic School the final exam is included with the course fee.  If in the event you don't pass the final exam, you can simply retake the final again at no additional cost.  And remember, you will always have access to the course material during the final exam.

How, when, and where do I pay?

You will be able to take the course for free up until the final exam.  You can pay anytime from the Course Status/Table of Contents page.  When you decide to pay, you will be informed of all the payment methods available to you.  If you decide to mail a payment, it's a good idea to mail it early on so that there are no delays in accessing the remaining parts of your course.

The credit card payment option doesn't seem to be working properly.

The problem is usually either that the payment processors are extremely busy or that you have entered an incorrect expiration date or card number.  Please verify that you have entered the numbers correctly.  Another common problem is an AVS (address verification service)  mismatch.  This means the billing address specified in the Card Holder Billing Information section of the payment form does not match the one the credit card processing agent has on file.  Make sure you have the address that your credit card bill goes too which can be different than the address you registered with.

If you are still having trouble with submitting a credit card payment, please contact our customer support staff by phone or fax. You can always pay with a credit card over the phone.  We don't recommend emailing credit card information as it is very insecure.  Email credit card information at your own risk.

How can I get a refund and/or cancel my registration?

If you will be unable to complete the course before your due date and think you might need to cancel your registration, you should first contact your court to see about getting an extension before giving up. Remember that we do have expedited processing available. Courts don't tell you that they honor postmark dates or that they allow for grace periods. You should complete your course in plenty of time, in case they don't!  In addition, you may also want to ask the Court if they will take a faxed copy of your certificate to hold pending until the original can be turned in.

In the event that you will not be able to finish after all, we will NOT be able to refund your payment.

If you haven't paid and would like to cancel your registration, you don't need to contact us. You will never be billed and your registration will be purged automatically following your due date.

I paid by credit card but the Course Status says I didn't.

There is a couple of reasons for this.  The first is a system glitch by way of the credit card processing agent.  This is rare but can happen on any payment enabled web site.  The second reason is you registered once and paid, then registered again and didn't pay.  These are separate registrations.  In either case, contact our support staff so they can simply fix the problem for you.

Is my payment information secure?

All payment information that you provide (Credit Card number, expiration date etc.) is passed to our credit card processing agent over a secure, encrypted connection. You can rest assured that your payment is safe from intruders.   Depending how your browser's security settings are configured, you may experience a warning that the connection isn't secure.  This is a false warning and you should just ignore it.  We are working to eliminate this annoying warning in the future.

I checked with my Bank and I seemed to have been charged twice.  Why?

This is what we call a false alarm and is a common occurrence if any of your payment transactions were rejected for any reason during the payment process.  What you're seeing in your bank statement is all the transactions including the declined ones.   This is how the bank's credit card process operate and we have no control over this.  Fortunately, the bank's settlement process will reject these declined transactions and your bank statement will reflect that within 72 hours.  Please be patient.

When will the Court receive my certificate?

Final exam testing and certificate processing is handled by Fun Time for some courts and 3rd party testing services for others.  You will be informed on who handles this process for your court prior to taking the final exam.  Most certificates will go out the "next" business day from when you complete the final exam.  Unless you choose an expedited service, the certificate will be mailed First Class and can take up to 7 days to be delivered.  If this time frame doesn't suite you, you should explore expedited processing options if available.

How can I ensure that my certificate of completion will get to the Court in time?

Please pay close attention to how your certificate is being sent during the final examination process. Many courts mandate that we use a 3rd party testing service.  If your court does, the testing service will give you specific instructions and/or options for certificate submission.  Make sure you pay close attention.

If we handle the exam and certificate process for your court, we offer optional expedited grading and shipping services.  You will be given an opportunity to upgrade to these services to make sure your certificate gets to the court on time.

How do I get the completion certificate?

Once you complete the course and final exam, a certificate will be issued to you.  Certificates are issued according to Court policies so rest assured, if you complete this course, your certificate will be delivered in the proper manner.   Depending on the court, the testing provider will send a court copy directly to you or directly to the court.  If the court copy comes to you, it is your responsibility to deliver the certificate to the court by your due date.  At the time of the final, you will be given specific court instructions regarding your certificate.

*For Amador, Contra Costa, Solano, Plumas, Modoc, Sierra, San Francisco, Mendocino, Siskiyou and Del Norte Counties, you will be taking the course for a court that involves a 3rd party testing service. If you have questions about your certificate after you pass the final exam, please contact NTSA at (714) 668-0822 for information on certificate status.

**For the following California counties: Butte, Lake, Napa, Riverside, Santa Cruz,  Lassen, Ventura, Glenn and Imperial you will be taking the course for a court that involves a 3rd party testing service. If you have questions about your certificate after you pass the final exam, please contact Coordinated Court Services at (888) 647-3926 for information on certificate status.

Do you offer expedited delivery options for my certificate?

For some courts, we offer expedited shipping services.  Unless you choose an expedited service, the certificate will be mailed First Class or via the method chosen by the court and can take up to 7 days to be delivered.  If expedited shipping is offered for your court, you will be presented with a web page to upgrade your delivery options prior to the final exam.  Keep in mind that Overnight carriers will not deliver to P.O. Boxes and delivery to some rural areas can be delayed.  If you registered with a P.O. Box address, do one of the following: change your registration address (prior to passing the final exam) via the Table Of Contents page to a residential or business address or send us an email with different address instructions and we can update it for you.

For expedited delivery, what is the daily cut-off times?

When you are offered a chance to upgrade your certificate delivery options, the prices and terms of service will be presented to you.  Typically, for graded exams, there is a 1:00pm cutoff time to allow us to special handle the certificate and ensure the package is prepared for the carrier for pickup.  Some services may offer later cutoff times for an additional fee.  Please pay careful attention to all the service terms before you decide to upgrade.

How Does Your Traffic School Program Work?

The Fun Time Traffic School course is one of the easiest course's available.  From our home page, you simply click on Start Course and follow the self guided directions through the registration process.  Once registered, you will be shown the Course table of contents and course status.  Every time you complete a chapter or section, your progress is recorded and shown to you.

Once you complete the required sections, you will be eligible to take the final exam.  The final exam questions are taken directly from the course text and you will have access to the course text while taking the exam.  Just follow our "Cool Tips" prior to taking the exam to ensure your highest possible score.   In some cases the final exam is administered by a 3rd party online testing service and in other cases it is administered by Fun Time Traffic School.  In either case, you will be automatically directed to the proper exam for your Court.

After completing the final exam, a completion certificate will be issued.  Some courts require you to deliver the certificate to the court while other courts allow us to send it in for you.  Either way, you will receive a hard copy certificate for your records.  If you feel you are approaching your Court imposed deadline (due date), you may want to explore the many expedited processing options available.

That's all there is to it.  Fun Time Traffic School makes it easy, convenient and fun to take that point off your driving record.

What are planted security questions?

Planted security questions are required during the testing process by ALL courts for ALL course providers as a means to assure the student is reading the material.  Simply put, security questions are questions about "Course Specific Content" that can only be found in our course.  As you read through the course material, you will come across seemingly silly or out of place statements that are not related to traffic school.  For example, the text may say "The author has 10 fingers but 9 toes."  That would be a planted security statement and there may be a question related to that statement on an exam.  Don't worry.  All of these statements are silly and easy to remember.  And besides, they make the course Fun! It may help to jot down some of them on a piece of paper so you can reference them when your asked.

Can I attend traffic school where I live, or do I have to go where I got the ticket/citation?

That's what is so great about the Fun Time course. You don't have to physically sit in a classroom for hours and hours. Regardless of where you received your citation, you can attend in the comfort and privacy of your own home.  You can also go at a pace that is most convenient for you.

When you begin to register, please enter the location of the court that has requested your proof of traffic school completion. This will ensure that you will receive the correct information about the course, and that you will get credit for this course to satisfy your driver improvement obligation. The location that needs your certificate of completion may be completely different than where you live.

Can I take this internet course from different computers?

Yes! You can access your course from any computer that has Internet access, it's that convenient. The course will save all of your information and you can log on and off at your convenience.  Imagine the possibilities, you can do some of the course at work, some at home or some at an internet cafe over coffee.

Do I have to complete the course all at once?

Your login will be valid for as long as it takes you to complete the course, even if it takes several months. However, be sure you pay close attention to the due date given to you by your Court.  The Courts require you to complete a traffic school course with a  turned-in certificate of completion by the due date.  Otherwise you will  not be given credit by the Court.

Can I take the course if I am a juvenile (under 18)?

Each court individually decides if juveniles will be permitted to take the course. If the court has not given you specific permission to take an internet course, you may want to ask your court before beginning the course.

Do I need a valid e-mail address?

No,  you don't need a valid e-mail address to complete this course but it's strongly recommended. If you enter a valid email when you register, you will receive confirmations, notifications and any correspondence from our support staff. Be assured that your e-mail address will not be released to any third parties unrelated to getting your completion certificate processed.

The student is solely responsible for receiving any email from Fun Time Traffic School, which includes enabling any spam filter the student may use to allow email to be received. Please be warned that if the student does not do this, the student will miss key information that may result in the student failing to keep the ticket off of their driving record.

Do you offer a mail-order booklet?

We do not offer a mail-order booklet at this time.  The Internet course is the same high quality and convenient course as the mail-order version with the addition of more convenience.

Where is the Final Exam?

The final exam link is located right below the last chapter on the Table of Contents.  If you don't see it, that's because you didn't finish all the course materials and quizzes (if required).

I completed chapters 1, 2 and 3 and I can't go on.  What's wrong?

Your court requires section review quizzes and you are ready to take the quiz.  Click on the link next to the Section Heading (e.g. Section I) where it says Review Questions.  This will take you to the quiz.  All sections work the same way.

There is an error message, what should I do?

In the unlikely event that you get an error message, please try closing your browser and logging back in. Your progress will NOT be lost. You may however, need to start the final exam over if the error occurs before it was graded. If the problem persists, please take note of the specific error message and where or when it occurs, and contact our technical support staff.  Or better yet, copy and paste the error message into our Email Form.

When I try to take a quiz or the final, why can't I see the page?

We have seen this problem on rare occasions with Internet Explorer.  If you have your popup blocker disabled for our site (there is no harm in doing so) and you still exhibit problems, we recommend you use the free Mozilla Firefox browser for the best browsing experience.  It's a small download, free, extremely safe and we promise you won't be disappointed.  To download the Firefox browser, click on the following link Get Firefox.

When I resume the course, my logon is rejected.  What's wrong?

Did you already register for the course? If you didn't register for the course yet, you will need to do so before you can resume the course.  From the home page, click on the Start Course button and follow the instructions.

Did  you previously register for the course and are trying to continue but are not able to log in successfully using your case/docket and drivers license number?  If so, the most common reason for this is you incorrectly registered your case/docket number and/or license number.  This is a common occurrence.  Many times people enter the letter "Oh" for the number "Zero". Or maybe you registered your case number with your zip code as a temporary measure because you didn't have it available.

In any event, if you have no idea what you originally typed in,  please DON'T re-register via the home page.   If you re-register via the home page, your course progress will be reset and you will have to begin the course all over again.  When you first registered for the course, a welcome email was sent to you with your login information.  Try finding that email.  If all else fails, you can request a new welcome email from the login page.

My court requires timers and they don't appear to be working properly?

Some court's require page timers.  Sometimes, if you complete some of the course on one machine (e.g. work) and then some on another (e.g. home), the timers can get confused between the different web browsers. On the rare occasion this happen to you, you can simply wait for the timer to expire and move on or try clicking here and trying again.

How come I don't get emails from you?

You should be receiving important informative email from us during the course.  If you aren't receiving any emails, here are the most common reasons.  Your email reader may be moving the emails to your spam/junk folder.  Please check there.  The other is you typed your email incorrectly during registration.  You will need to log into the course to verify that.

NOTE: It has come to our attention that free Yahoo accounts have increasing problems with mail delivery.  In some cases the email is delayed several hours or days and in other cases email is not delivered at all.  You can contact Yahoo but in our experience, this is a dead end and not very helpful.  If you have registered with a FREE Yahoo account and find our emails are not getting to you, please consider changing it to another account to receive our important messages.
